I had an interesting conversation with a person recently.
I was in line at the grocery store and drinking a protein shake.
A guy in the check out line made a comment about my muscles, how strong I looked, and how he could get fit like me
This kind of thing actually happens to me a lot.
Anyway I told him the secret was pretty simple: Workout daily, sleep 8 hours a night, and proper nutrition.
Then he asked me what was in the shaker cup.
I told him it was a protein shake and I drank a few of them daily.
He asked me if he needed to get in shape first before he should start drinking shakes.
It got me thinking about a saying I love: ACT AS IF.
If you want to be successful act how a successful person acts.
If you want to be a champion one day start practicing championship habits now.
Another good analogy is going to sleep.
When you go to sleep do you hit the pillow and immediately sleep OR do you pretend you're asleep first (by turning the lights off and closing your eyes) before you actually fall asleep.
So here is some simple advice.
If you want to be in better shape, or more fit, do what fit people do.
In this case at the grocery store we were talking about protein shakes but this applies to sleep habits, working out, what to eat for breakfast, walking habits, and much more.
Just something to think about.
You don't have to be something now to act like you are.
